The White Rhinoceros is coming!
Among many other things I will be working on and putting out in 2010, perhaps most important to the world of racial magic is The White Rhinoceros. The White Rhinoceros is a racially-oriented psychedelic fantasy comic written by The Partridge in the Pear Tree and drawn by me. It's going to be a very long book. It will be serialized in the anthology Mome beginning with volume 19, which comes out summer 2010. Full Hyper Color!

I am not kid-friendly.
For the up-coming Where the Wild Things Are movie, Vice magazine put together a promotional comic book edited by Johnny Ryan. (The mini website is here; I think the pamphlet will be included in this month's magazine.) The "night-time" strip above was my original submission. It was rejected at the last minute by Warner Bros. Here is the soft, lite, "day-time" strip that they did accept.

Copy
One of the things they tell you in art school is to copy from accomplished artists in order to improve. Here are a bunch of copied drawings I did while living in northern Sweden in the winter of 1999. Hmm, let's see-- There's Kirby, Clowes, Segar, Joachim Pirinen, Crumb, Ware, Tenniel, Warren Craghead, Herriman, Gould, and a few Swedish cartoonists and others I don't recognize....

Special Nice Cosmic Hyperdeath
So I have an art show up in April, but the opening is this Friday, April 3rd, 2009, from 8-10 p.m., at Secret Headquarters in Los Angeles. Several new and newish paintings and drawings. Also, I'm printing up very limited quantities of a trio of recent stories as minicomics- "In a Land of Magic," "Cockbone," and (thanks to Secret Headquarters), "Batman." Yes, come.
